I usually don't remember any of my dreams, but apparently my subconcious was thinking about book III right before I went to bed last night. So I wound up dreaming I was in school, and CLIVE BARKER had stopped by for an interview.
(If only my school was actually that cool)
Anyway, he was answering questions, so I raised my hand. He looks at me like he recognizes me (I met him like four years ago), and then says that he wants to talk to me after the interview. So, the interview is over, and here I am sitting in the middle of my caffeteria munching on stale cookies with the coolest gay man I know (and hey, I know a few). I don't remember all that we talked about, but he mentioned being really stressed about the book being turned into his editor and how he really didn't like how they had to remove a good part in the first chapter.
When we get done, he winds up driving me home (my brain is strange). We talk some more, he talks again about life being stressful, and then we part.
Anyway, just thought I would share! =)

Wow, maybe your minds were linked for a brief moment in time? Maybe you helped him solve some issues. I can't imagine that anyone would ever run out fo stuff to talk about with Clive Barker. Never ever be bored.

If they were, I would be so happy! Heh, I hoped so! I do wonder if he is really that stressed, cause that would certainly be weird!
Agreed, I would love to live in house and follow him around chatting. And seeing his arkwork, hello!!

I had an odd Abarat-themed dream as well. About I week ago, I dreamed that I was Carrion's servant and we were wandering around a building that seemed to be the twelfth tower of my imagination and my high school looking for Boa. It was funny. Kind of sad though.

I'm surprised that I never posted to this topic before! I frequently have dreams about my favorite characters from various books and movies. Abarat is actually one that I don't dream about as often, but I've had a couple of Abarat related dreams.
In one, there were two Candys (presumably one was Boa though) and they were fighting each other. But not just fighting this was like... some serious Dragonball Z fighting going on. It was REALLY humorous...
The other one was this really bizarre dream where John Mischief told me he wanted to go on a date with someone, but he didn't know how to go on a date without his brothers interfering. So he told me I had to go and buy him a special hat that all of his brothers could fit in and they wouldn't know what was going on. So the whole dream was me going to all of these hat shops with John Mischief, but, of course, none of the hats fit his antlers.

That sounds so amusing! I wish I had awesome dreams like that. The last dream I had was a few days ago I was a Jew that was hiding from Nazis and no matter where I went they kept finding me. The play I'm working on now is the Diary of Anne Frank, so it makes sense, but it was still very scary. Abarat dreams would be way more enjoyable. =)

*sigh* Stupid blonde... I'll go try to remember while I knit.

Oh, yeah. I remember now.
Have any of you seen Labyrinth? I watched it yesterday (twice) before bed, so it makes sense that I had a dream about it. It was basically the ballroom scene, where Sarah's wandering around looking lost while The Goblin King hides/watches. The difference was, rather than those two, it was Candy and Carrion. (But she wasn't wearing that ridiculous dress.) She didn't break the glass at the end and fall back into reality, they just danced. The strangest part was the background music. Lady Gaga's "Lovegame" and Michelle Branch's "Everywhere" and "All You Wanted". Very odd, very sweet.

oh, that sounds like the best dream ever! my favourite dream about abarat was somehow carrion showed up in my local mall and walked down some stairs into like some weird abyss thingy (no idea) at first I ran away but then I came back and I walked down the stairs and there he was, I called his name, and then for some stupid reason i hid from him, and then he found me. I then woke up, I wish there had been more *sigh* stupid brain

Had a dream last night that the third book finally came out. I went to buy it and it was like 70 pages long, including the pictures. The only thing that happened in the entire book was the entire cast of characters were flying on a Glyph, and Candy was developing a relationship with Finnegan. The end.
It was a very upsetting dream.

I had this really weird dream last night that I have mostly forgotten, but I do remember that while walking around Paris with my awesome but overly cheerful science teacher I literally ran into Clive Barker while he was chatting with a woman who looked scarily like Boa. he dropped his manuscript on the ground, and it was so tempting to grab it and run, but I didn't. I wonder what my brain would have come up with had I actually taken it and read it. I think the purple clay dinosaur-cat would have eaten it first, completely ruining the whole dream though. But yeah, anyway, I went all fangirl and started asking him about the book and whether or not he had killed off Carrion. (He said no.) There was something he said about a boy band, and a new character even more annoying than Finnegan, but I got dragged off by the teacher at that point to go find Van Gogh. I've forgotten the rest. Except for the part about not reading the book, it was a pretty good dream, the most interesting one I've had in a while. Hmm... Maybe I can try to dream it again and take the book. Edit: The dinosaur's name was Pickles.

Yeah. He/she was really sweet, but a trouble maker. it had these little lights on it's tail that glittered, so it was kind of hard to stay mad. "Bad Pickles, don't bite... the... Ooh shiny... Er, don't bite the nice man!"

I love all these dreams. My thoughts: I LOVE Labyrinth!! (and *coughDavidBowiecough*) If the third book was like that I would cry and then proceed to take a drive to Cali. This purple cat thing is reminding me of My Neighbor Totoro and the cat/bus.
