From what I know its not known when it comes out. But let me check that for you... I found this on The official Clive Barker site: Clive is currently writing the final draft of Book Three (so don't expect to see it before Summer 2009 at the earliest) and in late February 2008 he sat us down and read us Chapter Thirteen, set on Gorgossium, which was hot off his desk that morning! Check for more info www.clivebarker.info/newbooksc.htmlAnd here one of the most recent interviews on this site: www.clivebarker.info/intsrevel21.html

i thought it was supposed to come out fall of this year. it seems as though the date is getting pushed back repeatedly. ugh. By this rate there will be no one left on the boards when it DOES come out. -_-
come on clive!! hurry up!

You've got to be kidding me! Summer of 2009! This book is never coming out. It was originally supposed to be out October 2006, and for the longest time I was convinced it was finally coming out this year, but I guess I was wrong.
I actually am a bit angry, I hate to admit it, but I can't help it. I've been waiting for this book to come out for FOUR YEARS. I don't normally wait for anything that long, and yet here I am, still getting excited over the murmur of a release date and the slightest whisper of news.
It makes me want to hurt someone! Not Clive, though... never Clive

I have already warned my roommate that if the 3rd book comes out while we're still at school I'm running to the bookstore like a maniac.
Seriously, 4 years is a long time to keep us waiting. I thought the 2 years between 1 and 2 was bad. I guess this is a way to weed out the serious fans, eh?

It now says on Wikipedia "Winter of 2009" - the season keeps moving back. Soon enough it'll be saying "Spring 2010" and then "Winter 2010" and it'll just NEVER come out.
(is losing all hope)

It will come. I might have to have my great-grandchildren read it to me because my eyes went bad years before, but it will come.

That would be fun. Unfortunately my friends won't go trick or treating because "we're too old" (total B.S. We can run around like maniacs and sing the sesame street theme song but we can't dress up weird for one night?!?!), but a contest of some sort is definitely doable. What should it be for? Weirdest costume? By the way, where does Clive Barker live? Unless it's within about 100 miles of Fargo ND I'll have to skip. I thought it was California or something. Country music is sad...

If you scroll down towards the bottom of the page on clivebarker.info that has stuff about the future Abarat books, this is a recent twitter that Clive Barker posted:
"The first half of Abarat III has been delivered to my marvellous editor, Joanna Cotler. At the end of the week I will deliver the rest." Twitter Post By Clive Barker, 16 June 2009
