So I was watching Labyrinth the other day, and the whole time I kept thinking that the strange relationship between Jareth and Sarah as nemeses that are intrigued by one another was just like the relationship between Candy and Carrion (except Carrion doesn't sing, of course). In fact, they even sort of look similar, haha, except for a few of Jareth's more eccentric outfits, but he's usually in long, black high-collar robes, and his voice is even just like how I always imagined Christopher Carrion's voice. And David Bowie is so skinny that he looks a littttle skeletal, haha. And Candy really resembled Sarah in her portrait in the first book. But even more strange, Candy has Jareth's feature of different colored eyes. I dunno, I kinda started thinking that perhaps Jareth and Sarah were a little bit of an inspiration for Candy and Carrion. I'll have to ask Clive about that if I ever get the opportunity!
What do you guys think? Am I crazy?
Jareth: "Look, Sarah, look what I'm offering you; your dreams! I ask for so little. Just let me rule you; and you can have everything you want. Just fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave."

When you put it that way, I do see your point. But now every time I watch Labyrinth I'm gonna imagine Carrion and Candy now haha. But I have to say, when you see stuff like that in a film, YES you are going LOOPY!

Yeah, except Carrion kills people in horrific ways and Jareth is just a pushover

You know for some reason I had always imagined that Sarah and Jareth carried on a romantic relationship down the road. Personally I thought Jareth just wanted to give her a gift and a test. Could she be some one he was interested in.
In such perspective. No. In the movie perspective yeah. They are both intrigued with each other. I suspect it's from shared elements of both being abused and to an extent understanding each other. I'd almost go so far as a possible relationship. Short of his murderous tendencies and the fact that he's MUCH older.
