Has anyone noticed that in the painting of Princess Boa as a child there is a bristling cat ( or cat-like creature) in the background? It always striked me as odd that it was doing that. Cats only do that if they are scared or agitated, right? And if Boa was as good as everyone said she was then why is it having such a reaction like that to her? Now that we know what we know about Boa after reading book 3 does anyone think that this was supposed to be a clue as to what she is really like? And if so do you think there are other paintings with clues in them?

What an interesting thought! Most of the paintings I remember aren't like the portraiture you mentioned however, so I don't know what kind of clues there would be. When Pixler is going down to the depths at the bottom of the ocean, a picture of the Requiax is shown attacking his ship, but no words are mentioned on it. I think it was a great way to tell the story, but also it could have been a foreshadowing, like you mentioned above. You've given me an excuse to comb the books!
