I mean, besides the third abarat book.
Right now I am reading The Complete Works of Kahlil Gibran. He is a beautiful beautiful writer. I read his works a tiny bit at a time since he is dense and there's no ongoing narrative like in abarat. Its pretty much a collection of very short stories or excerpts by him.
That and I am reading a ton of textbooks for college right now.

Currently reading: The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, which is amazing. It's about a boy in Spain whose father owns a bookstore. He finds a book written by an author with a mysterious, dangerous past that he ends up getting wrapped up in as he begins to read and investigate the history of the book. SO good so far <3 Whitechapel Gods - can't remember the author. A steampunk novel. Not very good so far, kind of slow paced and the steampunk stuff is going over my head, but I'm trying to get more into the genre. The Library of Shadows by Mikkel Birkegaard (SP?) - about a man who learns that his father was one of the mysterious people with the power to basically mind-control people by reading aloud (any book). This group of people is about to break out in a war because of his father's mysterious death. Think Xmen with libraries and literature! The Fall by Guillermo del Toro - sequel to The Strain. It's a vampire novel, but more along the lines of Dracula than Twilight. Vampires have come out of hiding and are attacking and turning humans, causing a huge apocalypse. It's about survivors trying to find a cure for vampirism, or a way to kill them all before they're killed themselves. Aspects of horror and science fiction. Very interesting, although the writing isn't the best, but the story is definitely worth devouring. I'm also rereading The Ring by Koji Suzuki. It's one of my favorite books. It's what The Ring movie was based off of, although it's literally nothing like the movie. It's a mystery/horror with some fantasy and science fiction aspects. The writing style is very typical of Japanese novels, which can be difficult for readers used to English novels, but it's really an amazing book. It's fun trying to solve the mystery of the deaths with the main character, and even if you've seen the movie you'll still be very, very surprised! None of these are young adult novels, though, so I don't really recommend if you stick to the genres of Abarat

Those sound interesting...I'll consider them recommendations hahaha. I love how there is now a library of different books for me to chose from whenever I really feel like reading a book. I've seen at least 15 to 20 different interesting books being talked about on this site.

Well, I suppose I meant every one mentioned seemed at least a little interesting. If I had all the time in the world, I would probably figure out a way to get every single one recommended.

Any of you guys read it? Any thoughts on it? I've never read those books or seen those movies. Right now I am reading Strange Highways by Dean Koontz. It's a collection of his short stories. And, to my knowledge, his only collection of short stories. With i think two novellas... yeah hes a novel writer sort of guy even though I strongly suspect (due to his poor skills with character development), that he'd do better in the short story arena.

I got back off my holiday on tuesday night, so I am back to posting again.
I am now exactly half way through Cabal now, and it is fantastic. My father doesn't think that it is his best book. His favourite book is imajica. My fav book is possibly "Holes" I can't remember who is author is. But, my favourite series of books is obviously Abarat. On the other hand, when I have finished Cabal that maybe one of my favourites. Not sure though, there are a lot more Clive Barker books out there. I have got Mister. B. Gone. and still haven't read that, I have got the books of blood 4-6 omnibus, and I want the 1-3 to complete that.
Whats you favourite book?

Cabal is very good for sure! Imajica is superb and so is Weaveworld. The Dark Tower books by Stephen King are also superb. The Conan stories by Robert E. Howard are another must read/own collection of excellent short stories that stand up really well and more enjoyable than the movie adaptations. One day I plan to make a comprehensive list of my favourite books. By the way, the stories in the Books Of Blood are fantastic too!

Yeah, while reading the Revelations forum I heard that Imajica was probably one of Clive's best series. Definitely the next book on my list as soon as Thanksgiving or Christmas comes around.
