Let's make detailed predictions like "no one will scratch themselves the entire book" hahaha kidding. I think we are going to really meet Pixler. I think Geneva might die or be seriously injured. I think the Requiax and Sacbrood are going to be released but that they aren't going to be controllable. I expect Malingo to do some cool stuff and make that giant glyph. I think Candy is going to learn how to control magic.
And a lot of other things I can bring up later.
Anybody agree with me? Crazy? What's your prediction?

I have read somewhere on a book review the villains resurrected and morphed. So, I think that Kasper Wolfswinkle may come back alive. I hope so anyway. Also, I think that there maybe a romance either between Letho and Candy or Finnegan Hob. I think, but this maybe crazy, but that Pixler may get his own army because he wants to rule the Abarat also.

I am a bit disappointed with the front cover of Abarat 3, It is red just like Days of Magic, Nights of War. Also on the front cover of both Abarat books there were 7-8 small pictures. But on this one there is only one. Motley. What is your opinion?

Hm, true. Mater Motley is obviously going to play a very important role. I liked seeing the characters on the cover, they make up the story yeah? They're all important!
Perhaps he's saying the series is changing from introductory to meaty? >:^]
Nice name Vol! Definitely one of the coolest characters I think. Gruesome! I'll definitely tweet atcha!

Thanks for the compliment. Appreciate the follow also. It's really strange because on the Harper Collins website, it says that abarat 3 with be published 27th september. And in the UK 6th October. I have been to a few book shops here and there. And all of them say that the UK edition is considering to be published. I really really hope that it is published as a UK version. Have anyone else heard of this? ??

Hi there Vol. Well, I emailed harpercollins UK and there customer service department replied saying that October 6th is the UK publication date. You are right though to be dubious. A branch of Waterstones told me that there data base says that the publisher is "considering " printing!!! I suggest as many people email harpercollins UK and ask for clarification. It maybe that Waterstones need or are awaiting an update to there data base. The strange thing is, when you visit the UK harpercollins web site, the write up they give about Absolute Midnight is the one that relates to Abarat 2!!! To be honest, I think a lot of this confusion boils down to an un healthy relationship between HarperCollins and Clive Barker. That is my view. The reasons I think that goes back to the last official interview Clive did on his web site in August 2010. Check it out, its not nice. On a more positive note, I personally love the cover for Abarat 3. It is my favourite so far.

They better make a UK edition! Even though I live in the USA haha. The more prints the more people will see it and read it.
Yeah I read that interview, how they just completely didn't edit the work for like a year and then gave him a few weeks to redo it? Terrible. I really hope he's working with a better publisher now.
So you like the cover eh? I like it to an extent. My favorite picture of Mater Motley is still her sewing on the walking hand.

I'm not a fan of the new front cover. I prefer the other ones where there are small little pictures on it. I can't wait til the 6th October. That's when it come out here in the UK. The problem is, is that I can't get it on the day, because I will be at school. I will hopefully go to Waterstones and handpick a perfect 1st edition copy. Are your copies 1st editions?

What does everyone (who has a copy) think of the boards under the dustcover? Very different from books one and two. I like book three's dust jacket but I prefer the boards that were on volumes one and two. It would of been nice to have the five volumes all the same like a nice set. My copy of the book has been sent back, it arrived creased and bumped from a major online bookseller here in the UK. I am now waiting for a bookseller to stock it in the high street so I can pick a decent copy. Having trouble finding copies though. I know UK publication is the 6th October, but it is now available, as I said, I did receive a copy last week.

So do I, but I have to say that I do quite like it. Especially underneath the dust cover thing. Its a lovely oil painting (by Clive obviously) of the "midnight" sky. It's a great addition to the book. But, I still really liked the old covers with all the little pics on the front and underneath the small little pic. Saying that though, change is a good thing sometimes right?
Just out of curiosity what would be your ideal front cover? Any particular painting or anything?

Even though the old covers had their charms, for the reason that having only one painting on the cover lessens the chance of spoilery paintings (for instance, the last painting shown in DOMNOW being on its cover), I prefer Absolute Midnight's. As long as the title of the book is on the wide with the book number under it, the spines will match well enough on my bookshelf.
