Okay Im slightly calmer. Not much but slightly. I really liked everything about it except Carrions voice, that was too cheesy horror movie for me....but I dont really care because hes TALKING and BREATHING and maybe Im not okay to talk about this yet.....<3

Like I said before, I completely think this trailer shouldn't have showed this part of the book. A lot of the first few parts of the book were made up of characters wondering whether Carrion was alive or dead, so releasing this definitely ruins it a bit for you guys. :/ I guess it was Clive's decision to let everyone know, though, but personally I wouldn't have made the trailer about this part.

shhhhh Abaratian, dont give away so much about the book! But I really liked the trailer, wonder if he`s on 5:00 a.m. Speckle Frew? It looks very grey and gloomy, no sun or either moon in the sky.

I have to say I was personally very thrilled at the fact he asked for Candy, not Boa.

I suppose he couldve said it because it was Candy he was chasing to GET to Boa :/ But the CandyXCarrion shipper in me hopes it was a hint for something?

Maybe anticlimactic in the sense that it didn't tell us anything new...but overall I think it was just meant to get us back into the spirit of Abarat. I was happy to see CB's work "come to life" this way. It just made me want to visit an Abarat park in Orlando Studios even more T_T good marketing, Clive, good marketing.
I like how the trailer is pop-up-book-ish too.
Carrion says, "Where are you, Candy my sweet" right? It shows he's more interested in Candy these days. I wonder what triggered that! And he sucks the life essence of the crab and uses it to survive? I wonder if just anyone can do that, because it seems like a useful trait for Candy to figure out.

Except for the deep dark villain voice, what do you think of the actor and his makeup? For me I dont mind that Carrion got a big nose (With this scar over it, perhaps from the liquid?) and his whisp short hair. The only negative is his voice as I said wrote before and he seemed a little bit to young for playing Carrion.

Actually, from what I understood in the books, it's likely Christopher Carrion could be in his 30s. Finnegan and Boa are his age, remember, and they aren't that old, judging by the pictures of them and the way they're portrayed. Plus, we know the whole incident with Boa's wedding only happened 16 years ago. I kind of liked how the actor for him was younger. I just didn't really like the nose thing. They CGI-ed everything else, could they not just like cut the nose out or something? Also, I hated the voice. A lot.

Makeup-wise I liked how they did the stitched up lips. Actor-wise, he didn't really have much to do :/ I liked his portrayal well enough I guess. Nose--yes that that threw me off. Carrion is supposed to have a skeletal face atop a very strong/intimidating body, and I think they ended up just making this guy look pale and weak. He never looks frightening to me, as he should, even if he *was* dying.
But, say, besides the voice, if all of this was intentional? Thus making Carrion seem more human-like? Therefore making it more understandable to hear him pining after Candy or Boa or to see him eventually becoming a better person.

They should have used a actor that look like Peter Cushing (Star wars).

I believe at some point Clive said that painting is of Carrion when he's 17 years old. I think he had a nose, but it's now gone (perhaps rotted off by being submerged in the liquid his nightmares live in?). I mean, it's definitely NOT in current paintings of him.
