Well, since I registered here, I feel obligated to post an introductory thread. Mainly because, well, I'm new to this kind of thing, so I'll probably lurk for a good six months before posting anything else.
Let's get down to business.
Name: In real life it's Ally. But here, I'd prefer it if you called me Smi1e. Or Capt. Smi1e, or Dr. Smi1e. Whatever.
Age: Generally I don't share my age in forums because I don't like the automatic negativity towards teenagers. But because I doubt many people will read this, I am 15.
Location: Stranger danger and all that. But I don't think there's any harm in telling you I live in the Bay Area of California, USA.
Random Information: I'm a sophomore in high school, soon to be a junior. I've been with a completely awesome guy for about 13 months, so I'm pretty solidly taken. I like painting and drawing, and digital art, and I'm a (very) amateur photographer as well. This is my deviantart: zdecemberz.deviantart.com/ . I like piercings, and although I only have them on my ears at the moment, I like them unusual. (Right now I have single lobe piercings, a helix piercing, a conch piercing and a rook piercing.) I'm a huge geek, and I adore sci-fi. I also love a good debate, and frequently initiate them, so look out. Oh, one more thing: I've never been part of an rp, but I guess I'm interested if there's someone willing to explain how they work and deal with a beginner. I think I might like it because I love coming up with original characters and background stories and such for them, but I have nowhere to use them.
Abarat History: Well I discovered the first book in... It must have been third or forth grade actually, because I did a book report on it in fifth and I ad already read it several times by then. I was pretty proud of myself for reading "Grownup Books". But that wasn't the reason I loved it. I loved it because it was different from anything I had ever read, the illustrations both frightened and amazed me, and I was half convinced it was a magical book. Seriously, magical. I have no idea how I got it, it just appeared on my shelf one day. And the pages were all glossy and pretty. I must have read that first book over 10 times before I hit seventh grade. Anyway, eventually i realized it wasn't actually magical, just an amazingly good book. I found out there was a sequel, and read it. I am beyond pumped for the third. And that's why I'm here.
So that's me. Nice to meet you.
