OMG OMG OMG!!!! THANK YOUUUU!!! *tackles rawk* NOT ONLY THIS PIECE OF INFORMATION, GUYS, BUT THESE TOO: He also mentioned that there are plans afoot for a “Nightbreed” television show.AAAAAAH!!!! *uncontrollable flailing* MY FAVORITE BOOK "CABAL", WHICH BECAME THE AWESOME MOVIE "NIGHTBREED" ARE COMING AS A TEVE SERIES??? WIN!!! *wipes away tears of happy* Oh, and how about this clue: Barker felt that his subconscious mind - “the painter’s mind” - worked out a piece of the ending for him, and if one looks closely at the paintings, one of the character’s anatomical details will yield a clue to a major surprise in the last chapter of the third book.Oooooh, which painting, which character and which detail? Let the guessing begin!

But maybe it's one of the old paintings; one of those in the earlier books!

But maybe it's one of the old paintings; one of those in the earlier books! If it is, that still leaves a lot of paintings and characters to search out carefully, GAR!!! Rawk, you are AWESOME!!!! Thank you so much for this awesome link!! *glomps* "He felt that the third book has been the most difficult to write, as he had to set up not only an apocalypse, but also a deliverance from it."Clue, much?! Woot!!! *dances*

Barker also mentioned that he was fine with other authors writing about Abarat after completion of the series. Lordy Lou, Clive Barker, you should NOT have said that Plus a secret to The Thief of Always? I can't imagine how... I love this guy to pieces.

OMFG, I think I'm going to kill someone. All of you Candy/Boa/Carrion fans, skip this; it will just depress you. I was reading some things on the clive barker site and found this quote.
"And the romantic arc of the book is the most important arc I can think of, which is how lovers who were separated can be reunited."Clive Barker: The Dark Fantastic By Douglas E. Winter, 2001http://www.clivebarker.info/abaratbarker.html About halfway down the page.
Does anyone else see this as a hint that Boa (and probably Candy) will end up with Finnegan? Or am I just taking this the wrong way?

Personally, I hope they reunite in death, or something. >_> But that's not likely. I interpret that the same way you did.

I can't imagine another way they'd reunite, aside from death. I can't imagine her coming back to life, it would be a total cop out. And I'd be angry if Candy ended up with him, not because of the pairing (although I do hate it) but because that's basically saying "Oh, Candy IS Boa" which is not the case; Candy and Boa are two separate people.

Could this mean our long wait is nearly over?! Man, I sure hope so.

I hope so too. But wouldn't things be so much more interesting without Boa and Candy in the same body? I mean, the likelihood of Candy and Carrion ending up together is pretty much nothing with Boa in the picture, and as far as I can tell, ya'll seem to like that combination. Candy would never put up with Finnegan, and Boa would rather die than be with Carrion, so... Who knows? I don't think Clive Barker would be as evil as to change their personalities, so someone's got to give. (If this should be posted elsewhere, just tell me and I'll delete it.)
