I'm just trying (and maybe failing lol) to keep everyone active. For a while we were doing so great! Anyways...
I know of a whole lot of games played in other fandoms, but I don't know if they'd work with Abarat. So I figured I'd post the rules to some here, and you guys can tell me what you think is possible, impossible... boring, fun... Basically, help me pick which games to start to get you guys back in the groove!
Heal/Hurt Game
We get a huge list of every Abarat pairing, even the really bizarre and/or disgusting ones. Then the list is posted, and each pairing has 50 points. With each turn you post, you heal one pairing (add one point) and hurt another (take away one point). When a pairing loses all of its points, it is removed from the list. When it gets 100 points, it can no longer lose points and becomes "a winner". Do you all understand the directions? Since there are so few of us, we could start each pairing with 25 points and work up to 50, if you want. I can explain better, I'm just trying to be quick.
Wrong Answer Game
Someone asks any question about Abarat, absolutely anything at all. The next person answers the question completely wrong and posts their own question.
Ten Things I Love Game
Someone posts a character and one thing they love about that character. The next person posts one thing they love about the same character and so on until it reaches 10 things. The 10th poster gets to chose the next character, which everyone does in the same way.
Underwear Game (could be "inappropriate" so I don't know if this would work)
Someone posts a detailed description, possibly even a one-paragraph little narrative, about an Abarat character waking up and finding a pair of underwear in bed next to them. The next poster then finishes up the little paragraph with who the underwear belonged to, and gives their own paragraph. Example:
Christopher Carrion woke up, wondering why he felt so at peace. Rolling over, he found a silky crimson thong on the pillow beside him. He was flooded with horror.
"Oh, no!" he snarled. "How am I ever going to face...."
and the next person would post like, "...Rojo Pixler again!"
Psychic Game
Someone posts five predictions about the person to post after them. The next person then says if the predictions were true and posts their own. This isn't normally Abarat-related, but we can make it that way, if you prefer, by taking about favorite characters or something?
Facebook Status/Twitter Game
Basically, we pretend to update Facebook Statuses or Twitter as Abarat characters. Everyone would get to be a character, which could be bad because it might end up in fighting... but I guess it could be first come first serve... and we'd pretend to tweet/update facebook status AS the character. The thing is, we need to try and respond to what others have posted. Pretend they're all facebook friends.
Truth or Dare
We play truth or dare, basically. For truth, we'd ask questions like "What's your favorite chapter" or "which book do you like better" or "who's your Abarat dream guy". For dare, we'd do stuff like "Post a topic here about your love for this character" or "Write a fanfic for this pairing" or "Find proof in the Abarat books that this character is in love with this character". This one is my favorite, I've done it in a lot of forums and it ends up really funny. I know a lot of people will back out of dares, but we can make it so that the person who accumulates 50 or 100 rounds gets an award for their profile on here.
I can probably come up with or find like two million other games for us to play but I think those are good for now. Do any sound good to you guys? Would you actually play any of them?
