Ok I want everyone to help out on this. I want to make a list somewhere so that people can look at the best quotes in the book... incase they ever want to use them for something like blinkies, sigs, avatars, or just referencing to in the future. We can do this chapter by chapter... What are some quotes you like from chapter 1? Please give... who said it/Quote/to whom/where are they/ chapter/ page/ (optional) if it has like something to categorize it - such as friendship, heorism, love, magic, ect... you get my drift? I know thats a lot for one quote but I'm hoping in the long run it'll be worth it Thanks for any help! Feel free to go into random chapters to give a quote as well! The more the merrier!

Great idea!! Do you think we should also post the poems up somewhere, for the same reason?

I'm re-reading the second book right now and will probably re-read the first one when I'm done, so I can pick out quotes and such as I go through them,

I don't have the first book at the moment, but if someone could put up the quote by Jimothi Tarrie about light and dark, and the path of the dark being as noble as that of the light*takes breath*, it would be nice. Just a thought.

Can do, caitycat66 I don't know which part you specifically wanted, but here's the whole chunk: "Darkness has always had its part to play. Without it, how would we know when we walked in the light? It's only when its ambitions become too grandiose that it must be opposed, disciplined, sometimes - if necessary - brought down for a time. Then it will rise again, as it must. In the end, following the Dark Road is no less honorable than following the Light, as long as it's done with a clear purpose." (on page 304 of my hardcover copy)

Wonderful idea. Once I get book 1 back from my dad, I'll start looking for quotes I like.

Life is short, and pleasures few, and holed the ship, and drowned the crew. But o! But o! How very blue the sea is. ~The last poem of Righteous Bandy, the nomad Poet of Abarat. I know this is a poem, not a quote, but it's one of my favorites.

This thread is pretty old, but, you know, it's still a good idea. I've been digging through quotes for my fic, so I think I'll start posting them here. :3
