Possible Staff positions for addressing..

Ok I was trying to think of ways to make this forum absolutely fantastic and good at sharing information.

I was hoping that people would take on these positions. I'm not sure if I'd make you a mod but I think I'll be trying to figure out how to group you so you are part of a substaff committe I guess for the forum.

If anyone is interested in one of these or thinks there is something else they can be in charge in or have an idea for a position feel free to tell me. Thanks.

Jobs:

1. I want at least one person but maybe I'll take a few who make it their job to go on Clive barker's site or use other sources to give us information pretaining to the books- specifically release dates, potential things that will be in the next book(s).

2. Someone whose job is to find us information on Clive Barker. He seems to be a mysterious guy but if you can rely us new information on what's going on with him with his books, movies things like that.

3. Recruiters - A very important job. You can take the banners I made and go to different forum and make plugs and advertisements for this forum hoping to find new people who have read the books.

4. Game master - Our games section as died... you can start new Abarat inspired games maybe a few just random ones for the members to engage in. You can moderate it... make sure things run smoothly.

5. Well this is more than 5... but maybe one person per board that can keep things going... you know. Keep some activity flowing... like

* Board- Obadiah
Its basically a general board... maybe we can have one person who is dedicated of coming up with different topics to discuss... whether they be about hobbies, history, politics whatever ... and you can make sure things run smoothly in those threads. So you'd be a topic starter I guess.

* Board - Nonce
Well like I said in another thread I was hoping that Abaratian will help me with official contests.. then I'd also like someone to make some games for people to play.. that would also include thinking of different polls mostly pertaining to the Abarat but you can wander off that topic now and again too.

* Board - Isle of the Black Egg
Here you are supposed to discuss your favorite books. Maybe you can start some threads for discussion or advertisements of your favorite books or series. Maybe you can look for other forums or websites that pertain to those books... Or maybe you pick one member every few weeks and ask them if they'd share a thread about their favorite book.. Idk but I'm sure you can think of something. I'm guessing most of us here have a few favorites...

* Board - Qualm Hah
This is to discuss your favorite movies... Is someone here a movie freak? Maybe they can make some threads about their favorite movies.. perhaps you can disucss new releases... Maybe you can talk about some of clives movies.. or movies Abaratian fans might enjoy like other fantasy movies... or even tv shows that might spark the interest of an abaratian fan...

* Board - Nully
Its about writing... maybe you can start some mini contest in there like Poetry contests, or maybe start a thread that is a group story such as one person writes a paragraph and then the next person writes the next paragraph in the story. Is anyone up for being committed to that board and moderating it?

* Room Ninteen
Plugs... Not much to do there.. but if anyone wants to mod that or something feel free to request that

You can be in charge of maybe once a week starting a thread on one of the abaratian characters. You can make it your job to lead discussions on the characters.. maybe you can try to make a mini catalog of characters by trying to find every bit of info on each character.


These are just a few ideas I had...

I've been trying to recruit lately, with little luck. I think this should be everyone's job! The more the merrier!

Also, I totally don't mind hunting down good Abarat fanfics and fanart. I've already got loads of 'em saved in my favorites. I can start topics in that board ASAP.

In fact, most of these jobs sound pretty cool to me. I can help out with any of these things - games, favorite book discussion, the writing board... If you'd like me to do anything specific, just shoot me a message. The only thing I really can't do is keep up with Clive Barker news - I fail majorly at navigating his website.

Well I don't mind which one(s) you choose. Just tell me what you want to be in charge of and when other people tell me if they are interested in something I'll make a thread or something to show the different jobs people have assigned themselves to.

Well, I'm sort of a movie and a book freak, and love to think up games... hm... *ponders*

Ok, here's what I can do:

- Board - Qualm Hah (for the movies)

- Game master (I think it would be great fun to play Abarat games, and I have such inspiration for this one!)

Okay, that's all I've got so far. I saw in the other post that you needed someone to mod the graphic part, and I can do that too. Really any of these would work well, and if you need me for more than one of those positions, then it's fine too.

Abaratian just request what you'd like.. no one else seems to be responding so you 2 can have what you want. Then if anyone else comes along they can have a different job. Or I'll make them your teammate and you guys can work together on a board.

I don't know. I'd sort of like to help out with everything!! I can't narrow down my choices.

I'd really like to...

Mod the writing and general discussion boards.
Make the character catalog you mentioned with every piece of info we know.
Start Abarat-related polls and games.
Finding Fanart (maybe some fanfiction, but I already have LOADS of fanart saved)

Of course I'd also enjoy helping out everywhere else Hahaha I guess that's a lot for once person.

Seriously you are one of the main factors keeping this forum running and going and I and I'm sure everyone else here appreciates the work you do. You are very committed and its great! Thanks. Yes you may be in charge of the Chapter discussions as long as you like and I'll make you the head advisor for the sea of izabella.


Rawk thanks sooo much for showing interest in helping. Just look and see if anything interests you, catches your eye or just might be easy for you to help out in. Just tell me what you'd like to do and I'll let you take the reins in that area!

Abarat is such a big thing for me... it would kill me to see this place go unactive like it was for a while. I need you guys to be dorks with! Seriously, though - I feel like Abarat is the greatest book that no one has ever read, sort of like the little engine that could for the literary world. I want to be the cheerleader for the fandom! And while I can't be there peeping in Clive's window and screaming at him to write, the least I can do is run around on the internet trying to round all of the fans up.

Plus, the more active I am on here, the more of a legitimate excuse I have to spend hours of my life searching for all things Abarat related.

The other things I know I could help out with are finding fanart/fanfics, and I think I could help you with moderating the rp, too.
