If the Abarat was made into a theme park how would you imagine it? What would it look like? What kind of rides would it have?

I hope that they don't make it into a theme park. I just have a feeling that if they do, it won't be strange enough....you know? Like they'll bubblegum it out. Some of the paintings from the book are a little grotesque and I don't think they'll stay true to Clive's vision. On that note, I would hope that they had a bunch of tunnel rides with scenes and characters from the books. Oh, and they could have a roller coaster and a ferris wheel that would let you look down...and it could be set up like the map of Abarat.

Carrion's Magic Moth Ride! XD Ok, sorry, it's a sort of joke that comes up whenever Abarat owned by Disney comes up... *shudder*
I don't think an theme park could really do it right. I'd much rather traverse the dangerous and strange islands myself than try to contemplate Abarat as a theme park... In fact, I'd very much like to traverse the islands anyway. ... Any tickets for a plane to Minnesota?

Yeah Magic Moth Ride! Who honestly can do Abarat justice? No one they wouldn't make it like the islands becasue it would scare the kids to much. Which is to bad for us.

Honestly, I don't think Disney is going to do justice to Abarat as a movie or as a theme park. I wish Clive would have made it himself, but I'm sure he had really good reasons for giving it to a big company like Disney to handle. Maybe they'll base the theme park off of Babilonium... wouldn't that be cool!?

I'm sure Clive Barker will at least surpervise the making of a theme park and movie... He won't let them take things too out of proportion in the "Disneyness" department. I love that idea of having a ride hang you over a map of Abarat, laniemel Except.. I think it should do that, and then it would go into the map and through all the islands! Now THAT would be cool.

Eh, I fear Disney. I also am not a huge fan of theme parks. But i love Abarat. Hopefully that love will overcome anything Disney or a theme park does to Abarats good name.

Slightly off-topic here: I always seem to find something against Disney, but honestly, it's the modern Disney I have issues with. I wish someone had cloned Mr. Walt Disney himself; he had the right idea. But even he liked to soften things a bit.
Anyways, back on topic: Honestly, I can't picture Disney & Abarat at all. It's just....so... not right. As soon as I find out Disney's got a hold on anything (don't even get me started about their takeover of Pixar), I lose hope for anything of much quality.
As far as a theme park... I don't want to even try to think Abarat Disney style.
I do think a Babilonium-influenced park would be something I'd take a trip too though.

it'd be a lot of work. clive barker better design it. otherwize it would be a total flop and not loyal to its roots. :-(

Lol, enigmaticpoet, I'm lucky. I live in Minnesota. But anyway, a theme park would be weird. Whoever did it-excluding Clive Barker- would completely screw it up.
