Hey everyone! I hope that maybe we'll get more participation in this contest than our pumpkin carving one haha. I want you all to use your creative and artistic skills to make a Abarat related tree ornament somehow. There arent' any rules really. You have until Mon Dec 28. You can post the picture up here to show everyone! Have fun guys! Tell if you are confused about anything. THanks.

Here is my evil Abarat fish bauble, it's copied from a fish that is pictured in book one. ;D Nothing says Christmas quite like an evil fish! Happy Christmas 2009 everyone!

Eugh, fake trees. White is...tolerable... aside from the fact that it's a fake tree, but I heard someone talking about a pink Christmas tree. Yes, pink. Does anyone else think that that's completely wrong? I mean... Well, pink. Tree. There's nothing really more that I can say.
I just don't get fake trees. The best thing about a Christmas tree is they make your house smell nice! All pine-y goodness. If you have never smelled a pine tree, may your preferred deity or lack of have mercy on your (possibly nonexistent) soul. [/offtopic] And fake trees don't do that. And... eugh. Plastic. Enough said.
Real trees own fake ones any day of the week.
Cool ornament, though.

I love the ornament! Great work! I only ever have fake trees.. unless you live in the woods there is no need to chop a tree for that purpose. But that is just my opinion. I do hate pink x-mas trees. I have seen them in stores... and once in a home and it scared me hahaha.

Actually, real Christmas trees are 'greener' in both senses of the word than fake trees. Fake trees pollute. They're plastic. They use chemicals to make them, and there's crap in the dyes. And they don't biodegrade. And what happens when they get all dilapidated? They get dumped in a landfill--again, plastic--or they get dumped in the woods--plastic AND polluton--or they get dumped in the ocean, plastic and pollution again. Or they're burned, which screws with the air. Not good.
Real trees, on the other hand, are grown specifically for the purpose, so you're not hurting the environment. It's fine to dump them in the woods (what we always do with ours); it's no different from when any other tree dies and falls down. They provide shelter for birds and small mammals, and eventually they decay. Hey, look! Topsoil! Plus, they're prettier (I think) and they smell nice. No loss whatsoever.
